The Long Pool
The Long Pool, which divides the Back Lawn from the Orchard, was dug in 2003 to replace a tall yew hedge that divided the garden in two.

This large sheet of still water, enlivened by its tiered fountain, has allowed the cultivation of water lilies and a collection of native and exotic marginal plants. The Rustic Shelter was previously the gardener’s tool shed. It is now furnished with wooden benches and is a quiet corner to sit and watch the pool and the wildlife it attracts.
